Hello and welcome to The Von Dahne Foundation … For Mental Health Wellness And Awareness. Our mission is to provide the full spectrum of mental health opportunities and services to under-served Black youth and their communities. Von excluded no one and neither will his foundation. The Von Dahne Foundation was brought to life by his tragic and senseless murder. The Foundation was a way for his death not to have been in vain. A way to provide what was denied to Von Dahne, in hopes of a brighter, safer future with control and purpose for our Black Youth and their Communities to make all of their dreams come true. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity 50th Chapter Anniversary on Pitts campus… Celebrated during PITTS Homecoming October 8th 2022 The Von Dahne Foundation was recognized and gifted with their first official Donation From the Loving Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma.
About Us.... Who We Are
The Foundation’s founder and president, and Von Dahnes Mother, Jacqueline Wilson, deeply understands the need for an organization focused on black youth and their mental health. The lack of resources made for an overwhelming childhood. When he was 18, the state of Georgia deemed his mental health disorders “cured” (though neither are “curable”) and kicked him off of his SSI, and in turn, his medication and therapy. This is, unfortunately, something that happens to black youth on a daily basis. Black youth has been in crisis nationally because their mental illnesses have been ignored generation after generation. The Von Dahne Foundation will stand in the gap for our under served Black Youth in an effort to level the playing ground to provide what has been denied to Our Black Youth generation after generation.
